Portes du Soleil is popular for a reason

When talking about popular ski resorts in France, Portes du Soleil definitely comes out on top. This is not surprising, seen as this area consists of no less than 650 kilometers of ski slopes. It stretches from the French town of Les Gets, to the Swiss winter sports village of Champéry. Here you will find 170 kilometers of blue slopes for beginner skiers or snowboarders, 380 kilometers of red slopes for those with more experience, and 100 kilometers of black slopes for the real daredevils. Portes du Soleil is also so popular due to all the facilities here being very modern. Consider, for example, the new ski lifts that have recently been installed here. There are a lot of nice villages to be found in Portes du Soleil. Pay a visit to the chalet village of Morzine, or opt for the modern Avoriaz. Châtel and Les Gets are also worth a visit. Each village in this area has its own unique atmosphere. You will find nice shops, boutiques and special restaurants, where you can enjoy local specialties. Of course, you can also enjoy après-ski in these towns. During the period of Christmas and New Year's Eve, the villages in the Alps are festively decorated and the village is lit up during the evening.

Winter sports in the beautiful valley of Abondance

One of the areas in Portes du Soleil is the valley of Abondance, an area with beautiful slopes with thick, good snow. In addition, it is also an area that is very family-friendly, making it the perfect place to go on holiday to with your family. You will find dozens of slopes here.
